Today we learned about how natural selection creates genetic diversity in living organisms. The basic break down is this: the better adapted to the habitat that the organism is, the more likely that organism will be able to survive and reproduce. In reproducing the organism is able to pass its genetic material to it's offspring. Every once in a while there are "mutations". Mutations are the process in which such a change occurs in a gene or in a chromosome.
